Pet insurance: Increasing demand in the United Arab Emirates
Pet owners in the United Arab Emirates wish to have insurance products for their pets. They complain bout the high costs of veterinary care in the Emirate. Since the closure of PetSecure in 2016, no insurance company offers this type of guarantee in Dubai.
PetSecure's former policy covered veterinary costs and third party liability for an annual premium ranging from 500 AED to 2000 AED(136 to 545 USD). Only horse breeders currently have an insurance policy that cover medical care, surgical costs, mortality and loss of use.
