Population: China will have 487 million people over the age of 60 by 2050
By 2050, China, the world's most populous country, will have nearly 1.4 billion people, 487 million of whom over the age of 60 requiring specific health care.
To-date, China is endowed with 163 800 seniors' facilities with 7.46 million beds. By 2022, the country plans to train two million geriatric nurses. This medical staff will have to provide home-based services to reduce the pressure on health facilities.
This half a billion people over the age of 60 is a huge market for health insurance and especially for assistance insurance.
