Premium increases in marine insurance

According to some specialized companies, claims frequency rate in marine insurance and the high costs pertaining to ship repair should result in a premium increase of about 30% in 2008.
Among the main factors contributing to the rise of claims ratio, companies cite in particular the introduction of the more and more sophisticated technical systems, the intensification of the working pace and volume for crews as well as the shortcomings in the training of seagoing personnel.
