Proposal for the establishment of pool against forest fires

The financial authorities have come up with the idea of setting up a pool designed to combat the risks of destruction for both lands and forests by fires.

Policyholders, having sustained damage covered by the pool, would, consequently, be entitled to require financial compensations.

Forest concessions, plantations of all kinds, fish-farming companies, along with those companies whose activities are related to these industries in the provinces of Sumatra and Kalimantan may have recourse to the consortium.
In 2014, forest fires in both regions cost the State back 1.38 billion USD.
Policyholders are required to pay the pool a premium in order to be able to benefit from the advantages mentioned.
