Prudential Financial classified as non-systemic

Prudential Financial, a US insurance group, has been removed from the list of systemically important financial institutions by the Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC). The US Treasury and regulators consider that Prudential Financial no longer poses significant threats to the country's monetary stability.

Considered systemic after the 2008 crisis, the US group was the only non-bank financial institution to be in this list which includes institutions subject to supervision and capital requirements. Metlife and AIG were removed from the list in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
