Prudential postpones its listing on the Asian stock markets

The British Prudential has put off its listing at the Hong Kong and Singapore stock markets, which was initially scheduled on May 11. The May 27general assembly which was due to confirm AIA takeover has also been cancelled. This announcement has seriously disappointed the markets. This delay is accounted for by lengthier than expected talks with the supervisory authorities (FSA) about the level of the shareholders' equity. FSA requires in particular the establishment of a 1.16 billion EUR (1.48 billion USD) fund and the modification of some details to the takeover, which Prudential accepted.
