Qatari listed insurers: increase in profits in 2020

The Qatari newspaper Al-Raya Economic reported that the insurers listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange ended the year 2020 with a 19% increase in net profit. The latter went from 420 million QAR (115.13 million USD) in 2019 to be set at 500 million QAR (136.239 million USD) in 2020.

Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company alone has recorded a net result of 130.85 million QAR (35.65 million USD) against a net loss of 468.02 million QAR (128.29 million USD) in 2019.

Qatar General is followed by Qatar Insurance and Qatar Life and Medical Insurance (QLM) which respectively posted 101 million QAR (27.52 million USD) and 98.05 million QAR (26.71 million USD) of profits in 2020.
