Qatari policyholders dissatisfied with exorbitant motor insurance tariffs

Qatari supervisory authorities have received numerous complaints denouncing the high cost of motor insurance policies.

The policyholders underline that the prices for this class of business are inconsistent with the services provided by insurers in return. Some customers complained that insurance companies’ profits may amount to 90% of the underwritings.

In light of this situation, the insured are now advocating a more transparent industry and coverage that is better adapted to the premiums paid. The reduction of reimbursement deadlines and a replacement car stand among the demands made by policyholders.
