Results of Hiscox in 2008

Hiscox is posting its 2008 figures. The turnover of 1.198 billion GBP (2.392 billion USD) marks a slight decline in comparison with 2007 (-4.25%). Pre-tax profit has fallen by 55%, it decreases from 237.2 million GBP (473.7 million USD) down to 105 million GBP (152 million USD). The combined ratio is in plain improvement: 76.1% in 2008 versus 84.4% in 2007, that is, a gain of more than 8 points.
