Results of the insurance market in 2013, nearly 30% growth

The Rwandan insurance sector has recorded a total of 54.8 million USD in gross premiums in 2013, an increase of 28.7% compared to 2012.

Life and non-life sectors represent respectively 11.46 and 43.34 million USD over this period.

Growth would be driven, according to market participants, by the current regulations and the support of the African Insurance Organisation (AIO). .

For Jean Baptiste Ntukamazina, president of the association of insurers of Rwanda (ASSR), speaking in the context of the last conference of the association in Kigali, this development must be accompanied by the advancement of new technologies to create more activity and simplify the customer relationship.
