Tunisia: 2016 road accidents are costly for insurance

Tunisian roads are becoming increasingly dangerous. In 2016, the national road safety observatory (ONSER) reported 7 218 road accidents which claimed the lives of 1446 people and injured 11 034 others. The number of deaths is up by 2.77% compared to 2015.

As a reminder, the total motor insurance losses recorded by insurance companies amounted to 564 million TND (279 million USD) in 2015. This figure includes bodily injury and material damage claims.
