Road crashes and prevention in Senegal

According to a recent toll, the Senegalese roads have claimed a total of 1 457 lives and caused 68 515 injuries during the 2012-2015 period.

In 2016, road accidents accounted for 651 deaths. The human factor accounts for 90% of the accidents.

In an effort to annihilate this scourge, several proposals have been submitted, namely the establishment of a national training center designed for road users, the digitization of transport documents, stricter control of urban traffic and an awareness-raising campaign about driving for the benefit of motorists.
