Samiris, the winding process is ongoing

The deadline for lodgement of claims to the liquidator of Samiris Assurances SA was reached on April 23 for local creditors.

Messio à Bediong, liquidator appointed for the insurer, said in a statement that creditors residing outside the territory of Cameroon have until May 23, 2014 to lodge their claims.

As a reminder, Samiris Insurance withdrawal of approval took place in October 2012, following the failure of its leaders to recapitalize the company. Financing requirement of the insurer was estimated at the time at 1.6 million USD by the regional commission of insurance control (CRCA) of CIMA.
