Sanlam: 6% increase in new business volume

SanlamSanlam, the insurer and financial services group, has reported its results for the January to October 2019 period. The South African group reported a new business volume of 199 billion ZAR (13.6 billion USD), increasing by 6% compared to 31 October 2018.

This performance is outstanding, especially when it is achieved, in part, in a South African market characterized by some stagnation. One year following the acquisition of Saham Finances, Sanlam Emerging Markets (SEM) recorded a 37% increase for the first ten months of 2019. Its performance has significantly contributed to the strong results of Sanlam whose objective is to achieve a double-digit growth in 2019.
