Sanlam, profit decline in the first half of 2017

Sanlam has announced a 19% decline in its profits in the first half of 2017. The South African insurer attributes this decline to its participation in large-scale claims sustained by the country.

These include storms and forest fires that caused widespread damage in the Western Cape province in June 2017.
