Sanlam's stake in Saham Assurance Maroc remains unchanged
In May 2021, Sanlam revealed its willingness to increase its stake to 84.5% in the capital of Saham Assurance Maroc. The company planned to buy an additional 22.8% of shares for 1.2 billion MAD (127.93 million USD).
After months of negotiations, this acquisition will not be carried out. According to the Moroccan insurer, the conditions related to the operation have not been met by Sanlam.
The South African group's participation in the capital of Saham Assurance Maroc remains at 61.7%.
