Sanlam - SAHAM Finances: finalization of acquisition of Moroccan group

The acquisition of Moroccan SAHAM Finances by Sanlam Group and its non-life insurance subsidiary Santam has been finalized. The transaction, which took effect on October 11th, 2018, amounted to nearly 10 billion MAD (1.05 billion USD).

Sanlam, which until then owned 46.6% of the Moroccan group in 2017, now holds 90% of the capital. The South African giant acquired the 53.37% share owned by SAHAM Finances. Santam's share amounts to 10%.

Sanlam Group, established in 1918, began its partnership with SAHAM in 2016 following the acquisition of 30% of its capital.
