Saudi insurers: expected increase in M&A activity

M&AActuarial consultancy Badri Management Consultancy predicts that the Saudi insurance market will soon become more concentrated. The gradual increase in the minimum capital required to conduct insurance business will push smaller companies to merge.

In 2020, Saudi Arabia recorded three M&A deals. In early 2022, three more mergers were finalized.

According to Badri's report, at the end of the year 2021, twelve out of 28 listed Saudi insurers have had a share capital of less than 300 million SAR (79.88 million USD).
