SCG-Ré, results for the first half of 2018

The Gabonese Commercial Reinsurance Company (SCG-Ré) has published its financial results as at June 30, 2018. For the first half of 2018, the reinsurer posted a slight decrease in its turnover, amounting to 6.8 billion CFAF ( 13.9 million USD), down 0.87% compared to the same period in 2017. This decline in premiums is accounted for by the downward revision of the legal transfer rates by the Gabonese authorities.

As a reminder, the capital of the Gabonese Reinsurance Company is shared, as of December 31st, 2017, between the Gabonese Investment Fund (61%), the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations du Gabon (8%) and private insurance companies ( 31%).
