SCOR Global P&C: results 2019

SCORIn a press release issued on 6 February 2020, the SCOR group unveiled the preliminary 2019 figures for its SCOR Global P&C unit. Gross written premiums amounted to 7.1 billion EUR (7.95 billion USD) increasing, at constant exchange rates, by 15.8% compared to 2018. Growth was driven by the reinsurance business (16.2%) and by specialty insurance (14.4%).

The reinsurance underwriting profitability improved by around one point. In accordance with its Quantum Leap strategic plan, SCOR developed a disciplined underwriting policy for the January 2020. Thus, it deliberately reduced the written premiums by 4.7%. The 2020 renewals resulted in a 2.8% tariff increase.
