Scor confident after the reinsurance treaties' renewal of April 2019

ScorIn April 2019, the Scor Global P&C premiums of the renewed treaties have reached 548 million EUR (614,7 million USD) increasing by 9.6% compared to the same period a year before.

The January and April’s renewals alone, represent 75% of Scor Global P&C’s portfolio. The French reinsurer thus relies on an annual premium growth of 5-8%.

Such an improvement in the non-life and third party liability activities has led to a 1.6% tariff increase. Asia has witnessed the highest prices. The increases have nearly reached 15% in Japan, which holds approximately 10% of Scor’s premiums. In other markets such as the Indian, South Korean, Latin American, European and Middle Eastern, prices remained more or less stable, with a slight decrease from time to time.

In the U.S, Scor has recorded a significant premium growth for the non-life and third party liability classes (natural catastrophes excluded). The natural catastrophe programs renewal was stable.
