SCOR, results for the first half of 2017

SCOR has published its financial statements as at 30 June 2017. The net result of the French reinsurer amounted to 292 million EUR (333.2 million USD ), up by 6.2% compared to 275 million EUR (304.8 million USD) for the same period of 2016.

Gross written premiums increased by 11.7% going from 6.735 million EUR (7.465 million USD) to 7.523 million EUR (8.584 million USD) at the end of June 2017. The life entity, SCOR Global Life generated 4.403 million EUR (5.024 million USD) of premiums compared to 3.120 million EUR (3.560 million USD) for the non-life entity, SCOR Global P & C.

The combined ratio improved by 0.3 points in the first half of 2017, from 93.8% at June 30, 2016 to 93.5% twelve months later. Shareholders' equity amounted to 6.406 million EUR (7.309 million USD), an increase of 2% compared to the same period in 2016.
