Seraphin sets up a homeowner’s insurance based on satellite imagery

satellite imageryIn partnership with the Swiss group Baloise Assurances, the Belgian insurtech Seraphin is to establish a homeowner’s insurance based on satellite imagery.

Such technological advancement shall allow reliable risk covering in record time. In three minutes, the insured can obtain a fixed price thanks to the consideration of very precise criteria such as: the volume of the house, the roof surface, the land’s surface area, the presence of a swimming pool or garden and the date of construction of the house.

For the record, satellite imagery was already used by the French start-up Luko and the German reinsurer Munich Re in 2019.
