Serbia and Bosnia hardest hit by floods

According to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the floods affecting Serbia and Bosnia are the most devastating for a century. Roads, power grids and railways as well as agriculture and energy networks were particularly affected.

Damages, by the end of May, are estimated at between 2 and 2.7 billion USD in Serbia and 1.8 billion USD in Bosnia.
Nearly two million people have sustained the consequences of rising waters with 128 people having lost their life in both countries. Following this event, the growth forecasts of 1.8% in Bosnia and 1% in Serbia will be revised downwards.
