Signature of a partnership for the coverage of poultry risks in Algeria

A partnership agreement has been signed between the Caisse Nationale de Mutualité Agricole (CNMA) and the Conseil interprofessionnel de la filière avicole (Cnifa) regarding the coverage of poultry risks in Algeria.

In fact, the CNMA will cover the risks related to Cnifa's activities, through its network of 67 regional funds and 452 local offices.

Insurance policies will hence be proposed to farmers, to cover the risks associated with the death of poultry.

As a reminder, since 2014, 17 billion DZD (146.6 million USD) were paid by CNMA to compensate the losses related to the agricultural sector among which 3 to 4 billion DZD (26 to 34 million USD) specifically for poultry.
