Standardization of motor tariffs in Mauritania

The new motor pricing came into effect on May 1, 2018, imposing tariff unification and aiming at countering unfair competition among the market’s various players.

According to the data of the Mauritania’s insurance professionals’ association (APAM), the country counts 16 local insurers that reported in 2017, a cumulated turnover of 22 million USD. The motor class of business accounts for up to 70% of this amount.
