STAR Assurances: Declining results in H1 2020

As of 30 June 2020, the Société Tunisienne d’Assurances et de Réassurances (STAR) posted a turnover of 198.778 million TND (68.97 million USD). A 4.09% decline compared to 207.267 million TND (69.99 million USD) recorded for the same period in 2019.

During H1 2020, the non-life premiums amounted to 183.648 million TND (63.72 million USD) against 15.13 million TND (5.25 million USD) in the life activity.

The incurred losses decreased by 18.3% from 144.45 million TND (48.78 million USD) in late June 2019 to 117.956 million TND (40.93 million USD) twelve months later.

The investments were set at 35.067 million TND (12.16 million USD), a decrease of 9.5% over one year.

The net income decreased by 32.5% as it was established at 6.273 million TND (2.17 million USD) against 9.291 million TND (3.13 million USD) one year earlier.
