SUNU Assurance and CAMINSUR closer than ever

SUNU Assurance seems to be in talks with Cameroon Insurance Company (CAMINSUR) with a view to a possible rapprochement, a move designed to consolidate the financial bases of the Cameroonian insurer, helping the latter meet, among others, the new requirements of the Inter-African Conference of Insurance Markets (CIMA) in terms of minimum share capital. The latter is due to rise from 1 to 5 billion FCFA (1.6 to 8.3 million USD).

Insurers are left with a three-year period to comply with the new regulation.

In operation for 25 years now, CAMINSUR has been operating in the non life class of business (fire, accident and miscellaneous risks).
