Sunu Assurances enters the Senegalese non-life insurance

West African insurer Sunu Assurances acquired 75 % of Compagnie Générale d’Assurance (CGA), a Senegalese insurance company. CGA is specialized in non-life insurance, from which it has reported a turnover of about 3 billion FCFA (6 million USD) in 2012. Sunu Assurances, which already controls life insurer UAS, has managed thus to balance its Senegalese portfolio. The group, which was born in the late 1990s with the acquisition of AXA companies, counts today 10 life and 8 non-life insurance companies operating on the African continent. It is the number one life insurer in the CIMA zone.
