Sustained growth for the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia in 2016

According to the latest Sigma report "World insurance in 2016", the United Arab Emirates confirm their position as the Gulf's leading insurance market. Total premiums rose from 9.828 billion USD in 2015 at 10.237 billion USD in 2016, that is an increase of 4.2%. Non-life premiums amounted to 7.789 billion USD while life one reached only 2.448 billion USD.

Saudi Arabia ranks second, with total premiums worth 9.934 billion USD, 9.656 billion USD of which for non-life insurance.
