Swiss Re and Daimler launch a joint venture

In partnership with the German car manufacturer Daimler, Swiss Re has created a joint venture called Movinx. The objective is to develop digital motor insurance solutions to accompany the growth of e-mobility and the advent of self-driving cars and shared vehicles.

Based in Berlin, the new entity will be equally owned by Swiss Re and Daimler Insurance Services. It will have the status of an insurance intermediary and a service provider.

Movinx shall start operating in 2021 in France and will subsequently extend its services to other countries in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
