Swiss Re announces the cutting of 1150 jobs in 2009

Within the framework of its refocusing strategy, Swiss Re has announced its decision to shed 1150 jobs in 2009. With this wave of layoffs, the company is hoping to make savings worth 400 million CHF (377.04 million USD) by 2010.
The Swiss reinsurer has appointed Agostino Galvagni new chief operating officer.
