The African reinsurers' ranking

In the African reinsurers' ranking published in our previous issue, the 2004 Hannover Re's South Africa turnover (58 348 000 USD) has to be modified as follows:

  • Hannover Reinsurance Africa Ltd.: 942 835 631 ZAR (164.2 million USD),
  • Hannover Life Reinsurance Africa Ltd.: 837 745 036 ZAR (145.9 million USD), that is, a total of 1 780 580 667 ZAR (310.1 million USD) for the South Africa Hannover Re Group.

This amount puts the group in the third position in the African reinsurers' ranking, just behind Munich Re and Swiss Re.
