The air fleet to double in the next 20 years

flotte aérienneAccording to Airbus, the global air fleet will double by 2038. The number of passenger jets and freight aircrafts will increase from 22 680 in 2019 to 47 680 in 2038, rising by 110% in 20 years.

Still according to the European aircraft manufacturer, 39 210 new aircrafts, with an estimated value of 4 900 billion USD, will be needed to meet the airlines' needs. Nearly one-third of the new planes will be used to replace the old ones. The rest will have to support the rapid growth in air traffic, which Airbus estimates at 4.3% per year.

The highest density of air traffic will be observed in Asia with 42% of new aircrafts. Europe and North America, for their part, account for 36% of the new deliveries.
