The Banque Postale embarks on insurance

The Banque Postale has joined the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC) and the group CNP Assurances to create a major State-owned financial pole.

This rapprochement will allow customers of Banque Postale to access life insurance products, and later CNP's property and health products.

The inhabitants of remote areas will also benefit from this pole, as the Caisse des dépôts has been since August 30, 2018, the majority shareholder of the Poste. The offer will target the development of rural areas, neighborhoods and medium-seized towns to ensure a harmonious development of the different regions of the country.

Despite these changes, the Poste will remain a public facility. The rapprochement with CNP Assurances guarantees a future to the Poste which has seen, its mail service decrease over the years to account only for 39% of its turnover.
