The business turnover attained 340 million USD in 2011

Zimbabwean insurers posted a turnover of 340 million USD in 2011. Life insurance accounts for 53.5% of the written premiums versus 46.5% for the non-life business. Indemnification amounted to 130 million USD. According to the insurance commission, the country counted in 2010 nine insurance companies and two reinsurers operating in life and eleven insurers and eight reinsurers in non life insurance.
