The Carthage meeting

Arab insurance and reinsurance industry dealing with significant and sew risks ” was the title of the 11th insurance and reinsurance Carthage meeting held in Hammamet from June 24 to 26, 2012. Nearly 350 professionals from the Arab, African and European markets took part in this event.

Four major topics were addressed during this meeting: complementary retirement, political risks, Nat Cat insurance and takaful insurance. The discussions also dealt with the possibility of establishing a national solidarity fund designed to address natural catastrophes in Tunisia. This fund could be financed by motor liability premiums. Tunisia has witnessed an increase in the number of natural catastrophes, especially floods, whose recurrence frequency is of two years.
