The Catholic Church has set up a new insurance company

In order to promote saving, especially among low-income households, the Catholic Church has set up a new insurance company named Pax Insurance. The purpose behind the company is to provide services that are adapted to the needs of medium and small farmers. The Ugandan market reports 19 operators sharing a turnover of 100 billion UGX (60 million USD), but only 1% of the population is actually benefiting from insurance cover.
