The first health insurance policy in agriculture has come into being

The Fédération Ivoirienne des Producteurs de Café -Cacao (FIPCC) and the Fédérale d’Assurances de Côte d’Ivoire (Fedas-Ci) signed last November 10, a partnership agreement whereby 250 000 farmers, members of the federation, are provided with a medical cover, the first of its kind to be made available to the Ivorian peasants. For a modest premium, a farmer may protect his family against disease. A death and disability insurance is also available.
