The Geneva Association addressing publicly the G20

The Geneva Association , an international think tank of the insurance world has sent a letter to the top officials taking part in the Cannes G20, asking the members of this committee to recognize that the insurance activity does not generate systemic risks.
By doing so, the Association de Genève is trying to hinder the transfer of bank legislation to insurance. This analogy with banks is likely to cause a reduction in the sector’s capacity to play its role as a support of economic development by reducing its capacity to withstand shocks.
