The insurance companies are looking for new channels of distribution for their products. The insurance penetration rate has stagnated at 2.76% of GDP. Microinsurance and bancassurance are the new markets that insurers like Pan Africa and Appolo Life are targeting. Kenya counts forty three insurers who are sharing a premiums' volume of about 52 billion KES (724.8 million USD) in 2008.
