The moving of the Mona Lisa : insurance would be less expensive than the packaging

It is likely that Mona Lisa of the painter Leonardo Da Vinci will be moved from the Louvre Museum in Paris to the new Louvre in the city of Lens in the North of France. This museum is a public institution of cultural cooperation.

Travelling costs are estimated at 37 million USD, 2.45 million USD of which for insurance, 3.7 million USD for the packaging and 1.2 million USD to 2.45 million USD for transportation and security.

Other expenses relate to the protection of the artwork ( 3.7 million USD), the loss of revenue (9.2 million USD) of shops in the Louvre and the loss of revenue for the Louvre itself (16 million USD).
