The regulators will oversee the management of insurers’ capital

A 2012 law has expanded the list of investments open to insurers, offering them greater flexibility in their investment operations. Despite the progress achieved, the Chinese insurance companies are often facing problems of equilibrium between assets and liabilities of their balance sheet. This imbalance, which may trigger liquidity risk has pushed the insurance regulators to establish a committee to oversee the management of corporate capital.
