The storms that lashed southern France will cost insurers approximately 715 million USD

Last October 3 and 4, violent storms shook the province of Alpes Maritimes located in south east8 France, claiming the lives of 20 people.
The French insurance association has estimated that the cost of the storm for insurers will be comprised between 550 and 650 million EUR (605 and 715 million USD).

This event has been proclaimed natural catastrophe by decree dated October 8, 2015. Consequently, the Caisse Centrale de Réassurance will bear 50% of the amount for the claims declared.
