The Tunisian market in search of a second wind

As part of the 13th Insurance and Reinsurance Carthage Meeting, Ridha Ben Mosbah, Minister Counsellor for economic affairs to the head of government has pointed at the shortcomings of the Tunisian insurance sector. While on a global level, the average insurance spending per capita was of 1 125 TND (605 USD) in 2014, the one recorded in Tunisia, was only 141.8 TND (76.3 USD). With a total premium volume of 1.53 billion TND (823.32 million USD) in 2014, the contribution of the Tunisian market remains below the market potential.

To remedy this situation, some experts advocate the establishment of a reliable legislative framework to promote investment. Insurance companies are required to innovate and improve their services.
