The US administration hopes to reduce traffic accidents thanks to autonomous cars

The US administration has set a goal of speeding up the entry into service of the autonomous cars.

The aim is to reduce both human losses and the financial deficit caused by road accidents.
Indeed, 95% of accidents occurred in 2015 were due to human errors. In a study published in May 2015, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) indicated that road accidents cost 242 billion USD in 2010.

This amount included the costs generated by 33 000 dead persons, 3.9 million injured and 24 million damaged vehicles.
