Top 15 non-life reinsurers in 2018 based on turnover

The ranking of major non-life reinsurers for 2018 is more or less similar to that of 2017. Based on the data published by AM Best, the highlight is Swiss Re’s recovery of the leading position at the detriment of Munich Re with 36.406 billion USD in overall gross life and non-life premiums versus 35.814 billion USD for its main rival.

As far as net premiums are concerned, the Bavarian reinsurer is slightly ahead of Swiss Re: 34.515 billion USD against 34.042 billion USD.
