Towards a mandatory contractor's all risks (CAR) insurance in Côte d'Ivoire

A workshop on contractor's all risks (CAR) insurance was held in Abidjan on 17 and 18 September 2019. This meeting brought together insurers and stakeholders from construction and public works.

It is Sanogo Bafétégué, deputy general manager of the treasury and public accounts, who run the meeting. Participants put forward the idea of an insurance obligation for certain sites. This obligation would be accompanied by the establishment of State-supported compensation procedures.

Insurers have also been called upon to review certain covers and introduce more appropriate solutions for the Ivorian market.
