Travel insurance: new insurance initiatives in Egypt and Saudi Arabia

After the resumption of international flights, Saudi Arabia and Egypt have announced new insurance solutions for the benefit of their citizens.

The Saudi insurer Tawuniya has been granted the approval of the supervisory authority (SAMA) to market a travel insurance product covering Covid-19 risks.

As for the Egyptian supervisory authority (FRA), it is setting up, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, an assistance coverage for trips not exceeding 90 days.

With a maximum amount of 30 000 EUR (36 847 USD), the product which covers accident and health risks will be distributed by a new insurance entity called "Egyptian Association for Travel Insurance".
