Tunis Re, 2016 results
Tunis Re closed the year 2016 with gross premiums up by 8.2% at 108.9 million TND (47.5 million USD), against 100.6 million TND (49.7 million USD) in 2015. Non life insurance recorded 94.3 million TND (41.2 million USD) in premiums, while life insurance achieved a turnover of 6.2 million TND (2.7 million USD).
It is the Retakaful business that, with 26%, reported the highest growth rate: 8.3 million TND (3.6 million USD) in premiums in 2016 against 6.6 million TND (3.2 million USD) in 2015.
With a 7.4% growth,the incurred losses increased at a slower pace than premiums, from 50.9 million TND(25.1 million USD) in 2015 to 54.7 million TND (23.8 million USD) in 2016.
Let's finally highlight the strong growth of the financial products, which rose by 30% in one year; 17 million TND (7.4 million USD) in 2016 compared to 13.1 million TND (6.5 million USD) in 2015.
